A national hospital, told through its patients.

The National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh carries a national remit in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal care. We carry its case for investment through the people it treats, so every message arrives with a human face.

The challenge

A national remit, made visible.

Cappagh needed government, the medical community and the public to understand its work, and to make the case for investment in orthopaedic medicine for a growing and ageing population, while keeping the focus firmly on patient care.

What we did

Let the patients tell it.

We carry the hospital’s bigger messages through patient stories rather than standalone comment, so the people come first. Each plan is built around moments in the health calendar, from Rare Disease Day to Sarcoma Awareness Month, with consultants prepared as spokespeople.

The case for a hospital is strongest when a patient makes it.

Since 2023, Bannerton has been an invaluable extension of our hospital team, consistently demonstrating an exceptional understanding of the complexities and sensitivities required in healthcare communications. They excel at translating our clinical expertise and services into compelling narratives, bringing remarkable stories of patient resilience to national attention, and driving vital public awareness for rare conditions. Their sharp political insights and strategic counsel have also helped us navigate the wider healthcare environment, enabling us to advance our strategic ambitions while remaining relevant, respected, and trusted. We recommend them without reservation. Susan Foley, Communications Manager, National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh
