On 27 July the Irish Independent's Health and Living section gave three pages to Kian, a teenager treated for bone cancer at the National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh under Prof Alan Molloy. The Herald carried the feature two days later.
The same edition ran a second Cappagh story, on Senior Occupational Therapist Caoimhe O'Connor, a former Cappagh patient herself, who was interviewed on RTÉ Radio 1 later that week.
It is the kind of coverage a national hospital needs: patients first, with the expertise behind them in plain view.
